The Kingdom of Bakrasah

In-Game Information

The Old Kingdom of Bakrasah has fallen into chaos and anarchy, and now the five City-States war amongst themselves for power, wealth, and opportunity. The light of peace flickers dimly in the small river-town of Drakesbridge - will you help to fan it into a flame strong enough to light the countryside, or see it extinguished in the wake of anarchy and war?

Ally with the forces of law and order or against them, with chaos and darkness. The choice is yours!

The territory once known as Bakrasah encompasses a large amount of land between the area known as the Serpent Compact and that of Baddira. Situated on the coast of Avalon, Bakrasah was once a shining jewel of trade in the region, as well as a center of culture and civilization. Bakrasahni merchants were known for their shrewd but fair dealings, the minstrels sang songs of peace and harmony, and the threat of discord and war seemed remote.

Founded in the year 4ER (Evendarr Reckoning), the capital city of Mynea soon grew to bridge both banks of the mighty River Sah, and spawned several outlying communities, including the cities now called Alyria, Rathon, Gloomwood and Redmarch.

Unfortunately, as with many kingdoms over the centuries, this reign of peace would see an end - and almost 200 years later, the inhabitants of the once peaceful region are still at war. The five City-States now bicker over land, culture, and resources - with the lands outside of their direct control left to fester and rot in anarchy and madness.

The one safe haven in the sea of chaos is the small river-town of Drakesbridge, so named for the two bridges the town is built around. As the only remaining large bridges in the area, other than those internal to Mynea, these bridges, and the town that supports them, are vital to inter-city commerce and trade throughout the Old Kingdom.

Each City-State has sent representatives, of sorts, to Drakesbridge, to perform negotiations, sign treaties, and to insure the collective well-being of their cities - and of course, to do a little spying. The village of Drakesbridge itself has only recently come under the control of a being calls itself “Lord Law” who rules the city with an iron fist, in the name of peace.

The Haven of Drakesbridge

Drakesbridge is a small river-town centered around the famous bridge of the same name. It has most recently become a center of trade and peace in the troubled Old Kingdom, as the city-states send their ambassadors to talk peace and commerce. Ruled by Lord Law, not all is peace and quiet here...

The Duchy of Alyria

Currently ruled by His Grace, the Duke Aaron C’Moggan, Alyria has attempted to continue the older Bakrasahni traditions, and struggles to keep alive a culture that brough about peace and prosperity to many. Alyria’s Ambassador to Drakesbridge is Procuratrix Nala Strongbow, a member of the Alyrian Guard.

The Lands of Gloomwood

Not much is known of the city of Gloomwood. Inhabitants are seen rarely, and those who return from travels to the city come back... changed, almost haunted by what they appear to have seen. Though they have sent an Ambassador to Drakesbridge, no one has even seen him / her / it, and rumors abound.

The Merchant State of Mynea

Former capital of the Old Kingdom, Mynea is currently run by a tense collaboration of various artisans guilds, the Merchant’s Guild, and to a lesser extent the remains of the city’s nobility. Mynea is currently without representation in Drakesbridge due to conflict between House Rahab and House Mor.

The Empire of Rathon

Rathon is a very militaristic city, and is ruled by Lord and Lady Rath. Rathonians harbor no small amount of ill will toward outsiders, and use Orcs and Ogres as foot-soldiers in their armies. Rathon’s Ambassador to Drakesbridge is Arbitrator Venuleia Sosis, the Lady of Blue.

The Principality of Redmarch

Redmarch is peopled mainly by the hardiest of small folk, the dwarves. With a natural resistance to the poison found in the deadly Red Arrow snake native to the region, they are hardier than most. Thane Thordin Wildhammer rules, and has appointed his cousin, Sir Snorri Steelhelm, as Ambassador.
